The Chaplain's Role

For a number of years our school has been fortunate to have a voluntary part-time school chaplain - Nada Stadlander. Although Nada is not a professional counsellor she initially trained for the role at a Churches Education Commission training course and she continues to attend their training programmes. Her support work involves working individually with children who are facing times of difficulty through death of a family member, grief, trauma, parental separation and peer relationship difficulties.

She also leads small group programmes to develop social and learning skills.

Nada is available to support staff or school families should they want a ‘listening ear’. The school is very grateful for all the work she is doing in this area.

If the students wish to see Nada they just put a request in the Chaplain's Box in the student's foyer of the office. Nada holds sessions every Thursday.
