Waterwise takes place at Howick Beach during Term 1 and Term 4 for all Year 6 students. The programme is led by trained Waterwise instructors and many keen parents helpers.

The aims of the Waterwise are:

  1. Learn about water safety.

  2. Learn how to recognise possible dangers that could be found in and near water.

  3. Learn the importance of a buoyancy aid (life jacket) and experience how to swim safely using one.

  4. Learn how to choose clothing that is relevant to the activity.

  5. Learn water related skills that can be used later in life.

  6. Build self confidence in the pupils.

The Waterwise programme is often recognized as one of the highlights of the year for our Year 6 students.
